Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods and passengers, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the vehicle in excellent condition. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of driving regulations, and the ability to navigate efficiently across various locations. Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and delivery vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries or pickups.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on vehicles, including oil levels, tyre pressure, and overall condition, reporting any issues promptly.
- Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any delays.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Follow company policies on health and safety procedures at all times.
- Assist with minor vehicle repairs or maintenance tasks as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver with a solid understanding of driving regulations.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear interaction with clients and team members.
- Strong organisational skills to plan efficient routes and manage schedules effectively.
- Previous experience with delivery driving is preferred; familiarity with driver requirements is advantageous.
- Ability to operate various types of vehicles safely and responsibly.
