- You have held a full UK driving licence for at least two years (Our van insurers will not cover you if not)
- You will actively enjoy a job involving merchandising (arranging products on shelves)
- You want an active job involving lifting (the job involves moving 8-15kg tote boxes throughout the shift)
- You have good experience driving large (3.5t) vans
Salary
- £17 per hour
- This role is for someone looking for ad-hoc extra work.
- We run shifts Mon-Sun, both day shifts and night shifts.
- This role would essentially be the first person we call whenever a shift needs covering (due to annual leave, illness etc)

- You'd always get at least a couple of weeks advance notice of any shifts available, often a month.
Introduction to Pantree
- Pantree operates small, self-service food & drink markets inside the lobby areas of residential buildings around London
The Role – Multi-Site Driving Merchandiser
In this role, The role has two main responsibilities:
- You will collect the pre-picked stock from our warehouse in Leyton, and drive it (using the company van) to each of our stores across London
- Once you arrive at each apartment building, you will bring the products from the van to the pantree market inside the building. You will then restock and organise the shelves to a high standard of presentation.
A typical shift will involve replenishing 6-8 individual Pantree stores.
Typically, shift timing is 5am-3pm (day shift) or 7pm-3am (night shift). These can often be a bit flexible for the right person thoough.
You will be genuinely crucial to Pantree’s success:
- First, you will be the ‘face of the company’ - the person representing Pantree onsite in front of residents and building management.
- Second, because you will be stocking the products onto the Market shelves, you will be responsible for how the Pantree stores ultimately look and feel.
Is This the Right Job for You?
This is a great job for the right person - it's a generous salary, the work itself is stimulating & varied, and there are good opportunities for growth within Pantree.
However, it's a quite unusual role, and it’s not the right job for everyone.
So as not to waste your time, only consider this role if you fit all the following:
- 1. Experience driving a large 3.5t manual van (and a clean driving licence).
- 2. Genuine interest in a merchandising role (arranging the products on the shelves of the markets).
- 3. Wanting an active role (a trolley is provided, but you'd be lifting boxes off the van to put them onto the trolley)
Finally, you’ll need to be able to get to our warehouse (E10 7BT) for 5am (before most public transport starts) so a car is pretty crucial.
Applicant - Key Requirements
Please really consider everything outlined in the ‘Right for You?’ section on the previous section – this really is a unique role and if any one of the three things outlined (van driving, shelf merchandising, strong for lifting boxes) doesn’t fit, it's probably not right for you.
If all of those do fit you, then there’s a very good chance you will love both this role, and working at Pantree in general.
Above all, this role requires a great attention to detail and a high level of commitment and care. Every time you finish stocking a Pantree market, it has to be looking fantastic. If we can rely on you to show up on time every day and take pride in everything you do, you'll thrive at Pantree.
