Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely service to clients. This role requires excellent driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and strong communication abilities. The Driver will play a vital part in maintaining the smooth operation of our logistics and delivery services, contributing to overall customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries, in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals
- Load and unload goods safely, utilising warehouse experience where applicable
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and issues
- Assist with warehouse tasks as needed, including inventory management and stock organisation
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to all health and safety standards during daily operations
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver
- Familiarity with driving large vehicles such as flatbed lorries or similar commercial vehicles
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting is desirable
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members effectively
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in driving flatbed vehicles or similar equipment is preferred
