Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods and passengers, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the vehicle in excellent condition. This role requires a strong focus on safety, communication, and efficient route management to meet operational needs.
Duties
- Operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, in compliance with all road safety regulations
- Deliver goods to various locations promptly and securely
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on vehicles and report any issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate effectively with dispatch and clients
- Follow planned routes efficiently while adapting to traffic or weather conditions as needed
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained at all times
Experience
- Proven experience as a driver, preferably with delivery driver experience in a commercial setting
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for the vehicle type (e.g., HGV licence if applicable)
- Experience with commercial driving and knowledge of road safety regulations
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Basic maintenance skills for vehicle upkeep and troubleshooting issues as they arise
